friend streaks ๐ฅ
you've heard of friend quests:
those weekly challenges you complete with one of your Duolingo friends
well, Duolingo has decided to build on that by extending it out to your streaks as well ๐
with friend streaks, you can buddy up with up to five Duolingo friends to build a shared streak ๐ฅ๐ฏ
it's currently rolling out on all mobile devices ((so no A/B or platform testing ๐)) and should pop up when you next open the app

so how do they work? ๐ค
well, they work in pretty much the exact same way as your normal streak
only this time it's a streak you share with your Duolingo buddies
this means that you both have to complete a lesson a day to keep your flame burning ๐ฅ๐ฅ
for each day you both complete a lesson, your friend streak will increase by one -- just like your personal streak
and, like in the friend quests, you can nudge your partner to *gently* remind them to get their daily lesson done...
to view your friends streaks, all you need to do is tap your streak flame at the top of the screen, and then tap the friends tab...
from here you'll be able to:
- see all of your friend streaks ((you can have a maximum of 5))
- send nudges to your current partners
- send out invites to your other Duolingo friends ((you both need to be following each other to do this))
once you're paired with one of your Duolingo friends, you won't be able to remove them until one of you breaks your streak.
it isn't clear yet whether you'll receive rewards ((e.g. xp boosts, gems, free trials of Super etc)) for hitting certain milestones, so we'll have to wait and see over the coming weeks!

as i mentioned, friend streaks should be available right now on all mobile devices
simply login and head to your streak tab to get started
((you might even receive an invite to join one the first time you login))
it doesn't appear to be available on desktop just yet though and there's no ETA on when it might be arriving.
